Cllr Edie Wynne supported the decision of the DCC’s South East Area Committee meeting in May to recommend to the City Council that the Park in Merrion Square revert to its original name of Merrion Square Park. She further proposed that as the gift of the Park had been given by the Catholic Church and accepted by Dublin City Council this should be acknowledged by the erection of a plaque. It was agreed that the proposal, as amended by her, be put to a full meeting of the City Council.
